Cathedral Relays Sunday 21.01.07

It is hard work being a dad!!

I was running at Durham in the morning, and Mark was footballing again in the afternoon, and I still haven’t got the boiler fixed yet from last Friday and it is freezin’!!

I was surprised that we were the first race, that isn’t the normal thing for me, but was even more surprised that we only had 4 vets running, I guess with it being a Sunday morning they were all at church. The race was run, and poor Pat ever present ran on his own as he had no team, but myself Vince and Dave finished 19th out of 34 complete teams… I was ok with that.

Two complete teams for the ladies, nice to see, but I can’t help remembering more runners last year. I should take more notice of the photo in the lobby from last years race, see who was missing.

The seniors again only had one complete team, and Rob ran unaccompanied as well.
Richard Zak and Karl, seemed to do well, but I had to go to watch Mark, so didn’t get their result.

Another mention for our favourite none Birtley runner, a winner again. Tracy Laws (and I am spelling her name correct now) a member of the winning relay team, outsprinting another Chester le Street runner to get first place. Well done Trace, Sorry I couldn’t wait for your presentation.

Manchester next week….can’t wait….hope the boilers fixed by then!!
